William Bernard Collins was born in Brunswick, Georgia to the proud parents Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Sr. and Agnes Collins. Nard, as he was affectionally called, grew up and wars educated in the Glynn County Public School System and was a 1977 graduate of Glynn Academy High School. He spent a lot of time in his mother’s hometown, Kingsland, Georgia as well. He learned carpentry, hunting, fishing, and cooking skills from his maternal grandpa William “Bill” Dunham. Nard shared stories of his childhood and talked about how he and his first cousins had to assist their Grandpa Bill in stirring the pot of Brunswick Stew to prepare for the many customers that would be lined up to purchase that tasty teat. He also helped smoke meat that Grandpa Bill would prepare. Nard loved to watch NFL and College football. The Buffalo Bills was his favorite team. He also followed in his grandpa’s footsteps by becoming an entrepreneur. He owned and operated a car wash, a hair store and was a dog breeder.
