Ollie Belle Foreman, of St. Marys, Ga., passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1934, Ollie Belle Myers was born. She was the fourth child of nine children born to Ralph Sr. and Willie Mae Myers. She attended and graduated with honors from the Camden County Training School in St. Marys, Ga. In school, Ollie was known for her outstanding ability to play basketball and softball. When she would talk about those school days, her eyes would gleam with excitement and pride, and a smile that brightened the room.
After graduation, Ollie married the love of her life, Miles Foreman. To this union, they were blessed with four wonderful sons (Allen, Greg, Marty and Brad). At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a faithful member of the Historic First African Baptist Church in St. Marys, Ga. She loved Sunday school and Bible study, and for many years, she served as the church food service supervisor. She was employed and retired from the Georgia State of Recreation. Ollie was a lover of people, and was very active in community affairs, assisting whenever needed. She loved to read and could elaborate on any current event that was going on. She and her sister "Muppie" were the family historians. Anything you wanted to know about our family history, they were the ones to ask.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Sr. and Willie Mae Myers; loving husband, Miles Foreman; son, Brad Foreman; and six siblings, Ralph Myers Jr., R.C. Myers, William Myers, Willie Pearl M. Dawson, Yvonne M. Smith and Lillian M. Battle. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving sons, Allen Foreman and Greg Foreman of St. Marys, Ga., and Marty (June) Foreman of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; siblings, Gloria Manley of Charlotte, N.C., and Harry (Jeannette) Myers of St. Marys, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, Allison, Crystal, Linshsa, Litosha, Tequila, Brittany, Marty Jr., Miles, Anthony, Ross, Gina, Bradjha, Bryce and Branae; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law: Joyce Foreman of Kingsland, Ga., Hattie Foreman of Augusta, Ga., and Willie Lewis (Ceola) Foreman; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
